Car Coloring Pages
Our free car coloring pages go from a small city hatchback to a low hot rod with flames on the hood. You can print a convertible with the top down, a classic car with round headlights and tail fins, a taxi, a police car or a family SUV with bikes on the roof. None of them copy a real make or model, so the badge, the paint and the stripes are yours to invent.

Kinds of car coloring pages
- Everyday cars: sedans, hatchbacks and station wagons, drawn from the side with two or four doors.
- Convertibles: a soft or folding roof that tucks away behind the seats.
- Classic cars: rounded fenders, chrome bumpers and tail fins in the style of the 1950s.
- Cool cars: hot rods with the engine showing, lowriders with flame paint and custom cars on oversized wheels.
- SUVs and off-roaders: tall bodies, chunky tires and a spare wheel on the back door.
- Working cars: police cars with a light bar, taxis with a roof sign and driving-school cars.
- Electric cars: no exhaust pipe, and a cable plugged into a charging post.
How to color chrome, glass and shiny paint
Cars are mostly smooth, shiny surfaces. Three small tricks make a flat drawing look like metal.
- Chrome. Bumpers, hubcaps and trim reflect the sky and the ground. Color the top third pale blue, leave a white band across the middle and make the bottom third gray or tan.
- Glass. Don't fill the windows in solid. Use light blue, then leave one or two white diagonal streaks for the reflection. Windows on the far side of the car can be darker.
- Paint. Pick the body color, then press harder along the bottom of the doors and under the roof line. Leave a thin white highlight along the top edge of the hood and the roof.
A short shadow under the car, darkest between the wheels, keeps it from floating on the page. For more pencil techniques, see our guide on how to color with colored pencils.
Frequently asked questions
Are these car coloring pages free?
Yes. All car coloring pages are free to download and print for personal and classroom use.
Do you have cool car coloring pages for older kids?
Yes. The pages marked Detailed include hot rods with flames, lowriders and custom cars with air vents and big wheels. They have enough small parts to keep a ten-year-old, a teen or an adult busy.
Are car coloring sheets only for boys?
No. Cars are for anyone who likes them. Some people want a pink convertible, some want a black hot rod, and plenty want both. Print a few styles and let each person pick.
What colors should I use for a car?
Real cars are most often white, black, gray or silver, with blue and red next. A coloring page has no resale value to worry about, so try two-tone paint, a contrasting roof or a color that fades from front to back.
