Family Coloring Pages
Families come in every size, and these family coloring pages try to show that. There are big families squeezed around a dinner table, a dad and daughter making pancakes, grandparents on a porch swing, a new baby coming home and the dog in the middle of everything. A blank family tree and a draw-your-own-family frame are included for school projects.

Ways to use family coloring pages
Family tree projects. Print the tree, start with the child at the bottom and work up: parents or guardians on the next row, grandparents above them. Leave some frames empty or draw extra ones. The tree should fit the family, not the other way around.
All-about-my-family week. In preschool and kindergarten, kids often share who lives in their home. The draw-your-own-family frame works better than a ready-made portrait here, because no child has to choose a picture that doesn't match.
Gifts for grandparents. A colored family portrait with the date on the back becomes a card for a birthday or for Grandparents Day, which falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day in the United States.
Welcoming a sibling. The new baby pages give an older child a job while everyone's attention is elsewhere. Tape the finished page to the nursery door.
Keep the wording open when you hand these out. "Color the people in your family" works for every kid in the room, including those who live with grandparents, one parent, two homes or a foster family.
Frequently asked questions
Are these family coloring pages free?
Yes. All family coloring pages are free to download and print for personal and classroom use.
Do you have a family tree coloring page?
Yes. The family tree page has blank frames on the branches. Write names in them, draw faces, or glue in small photos after coloring.
Is there a family coloring page for a single parent or for grandparents?
Yes. The portraits include one-parent families, grandparents raising grandchildren and large blended families. If none fits, use the empty frame and draw your own.
Can I make a coloring page from our family photo?
Yes. Photo to Coloring Page turns a family photo into outlines. Group shots where everyone faces the camera give the cleanest result, and the printed page makes a good reunion activity.
