Dinosaurs you can color
- Tyrannosaurus rex: the giant meat-eater with tiny arms
- Triceratops: three horns and a big bony frill
- Stegosaurus: plates along its back and a spiked tail
- Brachiosaurus: a long-necked plant-eater taller than a house
- Velociraptor: smaller, fast and covered in feathers
- Ankylosaurus: armored like a tank, with a club on its tail
- Spinosaurus: a huge sail on its back
- Pteranodon: a flying reptile that lived alongside dinosaurs
Make it a dinosaur lesson
Ask kids which dinosaurs ate plants and which ate meat. Hint: look at the teeth. Count the horns on a triceratops and the plates on a stegosaurus. Since nobody knows exactly what color most dinosaurs were, every color choice is a good one.
Frequently asked questions
Are these dinosaur coloring pages free?
Yes. All of our dinosaur coloring pages are free to print and download for personal and classroom use.
Is a pterodactyl a dinosaur?
Not exactly. Pterosaurs, such as the pteranodon, were flying reptiles that lived at the same time as dinosaurs, but they belong to a separate group. We include them here because every dinosaur fan loves them.
What colors were dinosaurs?
For most dinosaurs, scientists don't know. Fossils rarely keep color, although a few feathered dinosaurs show hints of their real colors. That means kids can color their dinosaurs any way they like.
Do you have easy dinosaur coloring pages for toddlers?
Yes. Pages marked Easy have one large, friendly dinosaur with thick lines and simple shapes.
