Snowman Coloring Pages
Pick a snowman coloring page and dress it however you like. We have the classic three-ball snowman with a carrot nose, whole snowman families, a snowman on a sled and a sad little one melting in the sun. Blank snowmen let kids add their own face, hat and buttons. The big round shapes make these some of the easiest winter pages to color.

- Snowmen in action: skating, sledding, juggling snowballs and holding a broom
- Dressed-up snowmen: top hats, earmuffs, striped scarves and mittens on stick hands
- Melting snowmen: puddles, drooping hats and a worried face for a bit of humor
- Snowman scenes: kids rolling the last snowball in a yard full of footprints
How a real snowman gets built
The best snowman snow is wet and sticky, which happens when the temperature is close to freezing. Dry, powdery snow from very cold days won't pack. Start with a snowball in your hands and roll it across the yard so it picks up more snow as it goes. The bottom ball is the biggest, the middle one is smaller and the head is smallest. Flatten the top of each ball a little so the next one sits steady. Sticks make the arms, and a carrot, stones, buttons and an old scarf do the rest.
Snowman activities
- Design before you build: color a blank snowman page as a plan, then head outside and copy it.
- No-snow snowman: live somewhere warm? Cut out the colored snowman and glue on cotton balls, buttons and fabric scraps.
- Counting buttons: ask younger kids to draw a set number of buttons, then count them back.
- Sequence story: use a building page, a finished snowman and a melting one to retell the story in order.
- Winter cards: fold a snowman page in half for a thank-you note or a party invitation.
Frequently asked questions
Are these snowman coloring pages free?
Yes. Every snowman coloring page here is free to print and download for personal and classroom use.
What colors do you use on a snowman coloring page?
Leave the body white or shade the edges light blue. The nose is orange, the buttons and eyes are black or gray, and the arms are brown. The hat and scarf are where you get to use your brightest colors.
Is there a blank snowman to decorate?
Yes. The build-your-own pages have three plain snowballs with no face or clothes, so every child's snowman turns out different.
Can I use these snowman pictures to color for a winter party?
Yes. Print a few designs, set out crayons and let guests pick. They also work as a calm activity for a classroom winter party or a snow day at home.
