Soccer Coloring Pages

Lace up: these soccer coloring pages are full of kicks, saves and goal celebrations. You can color a striker taking a shot, a goalkeeper at full stretch, two players going up for a header and a youth team in a huddle. Shirts are plain, with no club badges, so every kit can be colored to match your own team.

Soccer rules in two minutes

These basics help young players and new fans follow what's in the pictures.

Teams. Each side has 11 players on the field, including one goalkeeper. Younger age groups play small-sided games with fewer players on a smaller field.

Hands. Only the goalkeeper may handle the ball, and only inside their own penalty area. Everyone else uses feet, head or chest. The exception is a throw-in, which is taken with both hands from behind the head.

Time. A full adult match lasts 90 minutes, split into two 45-minute halves. Youth games are shorter.

Restarts. A corner kick is given when the defending team puts the ball over its own goal line. A goal kick is given when the attackers do. A penalty kick is taken from a spot 12 yards from the goal.

Cards. A yellow card is a warning. A red card sends a player off for the rest of the match.

Positions. Goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

Coaches can print the field diagram and have players mark where they stand at kickoff. The classic ball has 32 panels: 12 black pentagons and 20 white hexagons. That gives kids a coloring rule to follow.
