The easiest way to draw something cute is to make it round, make the eyes big and keep the face small. Those three moves work on almost anything, from a cat to a cup of tea. Below you'll find 100 cute things to draw, grouped by theme, and a short guide to why they work.
You don't need to be an artist. Cute drawings are simple on purpose.
Think of a baby animal. Round head, big eyes, tiny nose, short legs. Many cute drawings borrow those same features. Here is the quick recipe:
- Start with circles and soft ovals. Corners and sharp points look tougher. Round shapes look friendly.
- Make the head large. A head that is almost as big as the body feels adorable.
- Put the eyes low and wide apart. Eyes placed in the lower half of the face look younger.
- Keep the eyes simple. Two solid dots work. For extra sparkle, leave a tiny white dot in each eye as a highlight.
- Draw a tiny mouth. A small curve, or a little "w" shape for a cat, is enough.
- Shorten the limbs. Stubby arms and legs look sweeter than long ones.
- Add rosy cheeks. A pair of small ovals or a bit of pink pencil on the cheeks adds warmth.
- Simplify. Cut details until the shape is just clear enough to recognize.
Try these steps once and every idea below gets easier.

Here is a simple way to practice. It uses the same recipe as every other idea in this post.
- Draw a wide oval for the head.
- Add two small triangles on top for ears, with rounded tips.
- Draw two dots for eyes, low and far apart.
- Add a tiny triangle nose between the eyes.
- Under the nose, draw a small "w" for the mouth.
- Add three short lines on each side for whiskers.
- Draw a smaller oval below the head for the body.
- Add two tiny paws and a curly tail.
- Go over the lines with a pen and erase the pencil.
- Color it in. Pink on the inside of the ears and on the cheeks makes it sweeter.
Swap the ears and nose and you have a bunny, a bear or a dog.
- Draw lightly in pencil first. You can always ink it later.
- Practice circles. A smooth circle takes some warm up. Draw a page of them.
- Copy, then change. Copy a shape you like, then give it your own face.
- Draw the same thing five times. Each version is a little better.
- Keep it small. A tiny drawing hides wobbly lines.
A cute drawing looks even better with color. Pastel shades, like soft pink, mint and light yellow, feel gentle. Brighter colors feel playful. If you want to practice on ready-made outlines first, browse our cute coloring pages. To go the other way, the photo to coloring page tool can turn a picture of your pet into an outline you can color. It uses credits.

Use rounded shapes, a big head, wide set eyes, a tiny mouth and a touch of pink on the cheeks.
Pick one idea from the food list. Food is small, simple and fun to give a face.
No. A pencil, an eraser and a pen are enough. Add colored pencils or markers if you want color.
Draw often, keep shapes simple and redraw the same idea a few times. Small steady practice helps more than long sessions once a month.
